NorCal VMF Dinner
January, 2007
View to a Kill
This is where I stood, a half hour before the dinner, looking in the dirction of Hartio's in San Leandro (near Oakland).
Craig (VMFer, Cmayna) planned and coordinated the evnt and did a fantastic job, despite the initial whining about
locations, from Waldo. The picture was shot from the top of Coyte Tower, atop Telegraph Hill, in San Francisco.
The Stage is Set
Everyone met up in the parking lot. It was a beautiful day, but the Bay Area natives were restless from the freezing cold
wind coming off the Bay. Wind chill factor had the temperatures below 60 at times!
20 people in total arrived, including SWMBO's and Derek's Dad.
Where's Waldo?
These pictures are not for people with weak stomachs. They are very graphic photos of a misfit group of NorCal VMFers.
View them at your own risk!
Kick the Kitty
Of course no NorCal VMF gathering is complete, unless Mike (kbmwrs) has an opportunity to kick a cat.
Normally, Mike likes to punt them into pools, but has now graduated to place kicking them into the Bay.
Unfortunately, he missed the bay, due to a great defensive move by a pine tree.
Here's 2 clips of Mike's place kicks:
The Warm Up (1.4m)
The Kick Heard 'Round the World (889k)
Time to Pay the Piper
When all was said and done, we set a new NorCal record for the largest tab ever.
The wait staff was fantastic. I guess, so ... their take was $196.70!
It was well worth it. Here's Craig (cmayna) and and his wife, helping to tally up all the money, which was no easy task!
My sincere thanks to Craig for organizing this, and to all the VMFers, their wives, and even Dads for making this an incredibly fun evening!
