"Meet in the Middle"

Check out: http://morrobay.org/lodging and follow along with me. Also check the web-site for restaurants in the area.

Blue Sail Inn:
$80-$140. Great parking for the cars under and next to building. Some rooms with bay view.
Approximately 1 block walk down stairs to Embarcadero (restaurants/shops)

Embarcadero Inn:
$95-155. Great parking under building. Some rooms with bay view. On south end of Embarcadero.
Walk to all shops/restaurants. I stayed here and walked the whole Embarcadero (not far).

Both said they would be glad to have us.

For the rest of the motels listed I can just make comments about looks and parking. Prices are from the AAA tour book which can be slightly off.

Ascot Inn:
Looks nice. Good parking. Short walk to Embarcadero. $70-179

Bay View Inn:
Nice. Good parking. Short walk to Embarcadero. $69-159

Best Western El Rancho:
New. Lots of parking. Next to Spencer's grocery. A few miles from Embarcadero.
Questionable local for your car (too close to Hwy1). $49-149

Best Western San Marcos:
Small parking under bldg. Short walk to Embarcadero. $69-229

Breakers Motel:
Small parking lot. Short walk to Embarcadero. $69-169

Days Inn:
On Main St. downtown. U-shaped motel with parking inside U. A few blocks walk to Embarcadero.
I'd be worried about my car here. $80-120

ElMorro Masterpiece Motel:
Couldn't see parking. Looked fancy but not near anything, on north end of Main. $59-259.

Econo Lodge:
Parking under bldg, small. Again near downtown. $59-194

Fireside Inn:
Small, small parking. Short walk to Embarcadero. $65-169

Motel 6 at Hwy1 & Atascadero Rd (west side):
next to concrete plant and park (ballfield). New. Lots of parking but stones throw from Hwy 1 (thieves???).
Not close to anything except our meeting place Saturday. $62

Other motels on Main are walking distance to downtown (not much there) and a slightly longer walk down to Embarcadero. Some looked fine but small and would be questionable in having more than a few Classics parked there.

I make no promises about any motels. Comments were a gut feeling I had looking at the area of the motels. Make you own reservations and let others know of your planned motel so we can find you. I'm staying at the Embarcadero Inn (800-292-7625).

Yes motels aren't cheap in Morro Bay but hey what-r-ya-gonna-do.
